In this module you will work through case studies, involving a person experiencing each of the target changed behaviours. For each case study you will develop a management plan to help support the person. This is module 3 in the 4-part module series: Appropriate use of benzodiazepines and other sedatives.

Learning Outcomes

After completing this module, staff should be able to:
  • Recognise the three suggested stages involved in a management plan when supporting a person experiencing a target changed behaviour.
  • Describe non-pharmacological strategies that may be used to support people living with dementia.
  • Explain the review and monitoring process once a person is prescribed a benzodiazepine and/or other sedative medications.
