Learning Outcomes

While parts of the consultancy will be tailored to meet the specific needs of the client, over the course of the consultancy period the organisation and staff will:
  • Be introduced a person living with dementia (i.e. who are we designing/ supporting/caring for?) and why the environment matters.
  • Increase understanding the relationship between environment and behaviour.
  • Discuss the meaning of evidence based key design principles.
  • Applying ten principles of designing for people with dementia in the acute context.
  • Introducing the content and use of Environmental Assessment Tools.
  • Assessing the strengths and weaknesses of acute environments.
  • Create an Action Plan to implement environmental changes, with guidance from consultant.
