Learning Outcomes

After completing this module, staff should be able to:
  • Understand the impact of dementia on communication.
  • Identify and implement communication strategies which can be used to facilitate communication.
  • Reflect on your communication style and rehearse modifications to verbal communication which may enhance understanding for the person with dementia.
