This unit provides a framework for students to design a research project, potentially of direct relevance to their professional and/or personal context, under the guidance of a research-experienced mentor. The form and scope of the project will be negotiated between student and mentor, for example the construction of a policy, evidence-based recommendation, and/or a primary research project. In addition to a literature survey establishing the basis for their project, students will also undertake a “clear communication” exercise related to their project for an audience unfamiliar with the field. This unit of study is part of the Postgraduate Studies in Dementia Program, offered by the University of Tasmania.
