This program explores the benefits of self-leadership to thrive in an organisation, by supporting people living with dementia, in partnership with families and staff. The four learning modules in this program cover self-leadership, communication, trust and stress management. The benefits include:

  • An ideal short starter course for staff with potential to become leaders in dementia practice.
  • Participants strengthen confidence in their abilities and building colleagues’ capacity.
  • Creates opportunities for further leadership programs.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this program, staff should be able to:
  • Build a deeper understanding of self-leadership and its application to self in the workplace.
  • Identify the impact of communication across the support relationship, and how self-leadership skills can improve communication.
  • Recognise the importance of trust in building relationships.
  • Gain self-leadership skills to identify and manage stress.
  • Gain the confidence to lead and work collaboratively with staff, by developing these internal tools.
  • Engage in a self-reflection session to identify key ‘take aways’ and how these skills can be applied in their workplace.
