Advancing practice in the care of people with dementia: Module 3 – Diagnosing dementia
By Dementia Training Australia
Dementia is an umbrella term for several neurodegenerative conditions, of which Alzheimer's disease is the most common. It is a clinical condition and there is no single step to diagnosing the syndrome. Differential diagnoses must be considered and excluded before a diagnosis can be made. This module discusses the importance of accurate diagnosis as well as the process by which a diagnosis of dementia is determined. This module also includes information about some of the available screening and tools.
